The Tom and Ruth Harkin Center, 2800 University Ave. in Des Moines, received the 2022 ICFF Interiors Award in the education category at the 42nd Annual Interiors Awards ceremony held in May in New York City. BNIM Architects, which has offices in downtown Des Moines, designed the center, which houses the Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement. The award honors exceptional interiors projects in 11 categories including hotel, office, residential, education, retail, adaptive reuse/historic renovation, bar/restaurant, civic/public, health care, student, wellness/sustainable, and other.
