111 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentMore than 50 people joined Polk County Housing Trust Fund’s bus tour this morning to discuss affordable housing and access to food. The featured organization was the Partnership for a Hunger-Free Polk County — community partners working to eliminate hunger in Polk County. The partnership’s goal is to raise $10 million to increase access to food pantries and to increase awareness of both the problem and the food pantry locations. So far, the partnership has raised $5 million, renovated a warehouse for donated food items, increased food pantry hours, bought a mobile food pantry and identified neighborhoods that have many low income families but little access to food assistance.
