Tourism office kicks off spring marketing campaign

The Iowa Tourism Office launched its spring marketing campaign to bring in visitors from Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis and other cities in surrounding states.

The tourism office estimates the campaign will make 74.3 million impressions through online ads, signage in malls and targeted 15-second television spots.

The agency also plans to use a social media campaign. The tourism office estimates that out-of-state visitors generate more than $6 billion in spending annually and leave behind more than $300 million in state tax revenue.
