USA Today: Toys R Us plans to close two Des Moines-area stores by spring. The company late Tuesday filed court documents outlining plans to close up to 182 stores as part of its bankruptcy reorganization plans. It noted that some closings may be avoided if it is able to negotiate more favorable lease terms. The local stores on Army Post Road in Des Moines and on University Avenue in Clive are the only Iowa stores on the company’s list of closures. Going-out-of-business sales are scheduled to begin in February and be completed in April.
