Kim Reynolds has appointed top aide Paul Trombino to temporarily lead the Department of Administrative Services until a replacement is named, the Des Moines Register reported. The Iowa Senate adjourned without reappointing Janet Phipps Burkhead as agency director after Democrats’ complaints about her handling of sexual harassment cases. Trombino, former chief of the Iowa Department of Transportation, had been named Reynolds’ chief operations officer in January after he left his post as president of McClure Engineering.
