Cedar Rapids-based TrueNorth Cos. has acquired Gateway Insurance Services, which will adopt the TrueNorth name and brand, the companies said in a press release. With locations in Ames and Iowa Falls, Gateway Insurance Services has done business in both communities for nearly 35 years. Gateway founder and President John Langeland said the two companies share similar values. “Together, we will work to enrich the client experience while maintaining a strong local presence,” he said. TrueNorth, which has 14 offices in six states and ranks among the 50 largest privately owned U.S. insurance brokerage firms, will continue to seek buyouts throughout the country for further growth through acquisitions, the company said.
