From a pool of 583 applicants nationwide, two Iowa high school seniors were among the 100 winners of a Young Entrepreneur Foundation Scholarship award from the National Federation of Independent Business. The Iowa winners are Adam Hackfort, from Panorama high school, and Colton Sleister, from Ankeny High School. Hackfort, who will be attending Iowa State University in the fall, is the owner of Hackfort Mowing. Sleister, who plans to attend Drake University, is the owner of Sleister Trombones. The students will receive $2,000 toward their college costs. Iowa YEF Scholarships were financed by the donations of the NFIB Iowa Leadership Council.
