U of I receives additional flood recovery funds
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded an additional $106.7 million in funding assistance for two major University of Iowa 2008 flood recovery projects, Gov. Terry Branstad announced today. The additional award brings the total federal aid to the university for flood recovery to nearly $421 million, Branstad said in a release. The Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division has been working with the university to obtain additional federal funding for the relocation of Hancher/Voxman/Clapp and Art Building East, which were heavily damaged by flooding in 2008. Hancher/Voxman/Clapp received an additional $74,218,831, and Art Building East received an additional $32,547,414.
