The Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer for December found that farmers are less optimistic about the health of the agricultural economy, Successful Farming reported. The barometer is based on a monthly survey of 400 agricultural producers from across the country. “Two specific survey questions capture the recent erosion of producers’ forward-looking sentiment,” said James Mintert, the barometer’s principal investigator and director of Purdue University’s Center for Commercial Agriculture.
