U.S. League of Women Voters president to keynote Iowa League convention

Elisabeth MacNamara, the 18th president of the League of Women Voters of the United States, will be the keynote speaker at the League of Women Voters of Iowa in Des Moines on June 6. The meeting set to take place at Des Moines University. She is expected to focus on how the League is fighting to keep secret money out of politics, and how it’s working to defend the environment and the public’s health from polluters. She will also report on the growing impact the League has had across the country in its work toward protecting and educating voters. Non-members of the League are welcome to register to hear McNamara’s speech. The convention starts at 8 a.m. The fee for delegates is $50.
