Des Moines Register: Some Iowans will not immediately get all of the unemployment benefits owed to them when long-delayed federal jobless funds begin reaching recipients next week, Iowa Workforce Development Director Beth Townsend said Tuesday. After a seven-week wait, the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation payments will arrive in workers’ accounts by Feb. 25. However, Townsend told a state legislative subcommittee that some claimants will only get one week’s worth of payments in the initial deposit — though they may be owed far more.
