UNI professor removed for mandating masks is reinstated for virtual instruction
Cedar Rapids Gazette: Heeding mounting pressure not just from directly affected students but also from the larger student body and others, the University of Northern Iowa late Wednesday revised its discipline of an embattled professor who rebuffed policy by requiring masks — allowing him to continue teaching the class he was removed from last week. Longtime UNI biology professor Steve O’Kane, 64, for the rest of the semester will teach his “plant systematics” course and lab online.
