United Way plans education conference
United Way of Central Iowa will have a half-day education conference Nov. 1 at the FFA Enrichment Center, 1055 S.W. Prairie Trail Parkway in Ankeny. The conference, Education Works! Strategies Linking Adult Literacy with Workforce Skills, will study ways to link schools, nonprofits, community colleges and state agencies to help more Iowans earn their general educational development (GED) certification – a critical first credential for the world of work.
