United Way raises record $28 million

For the fifth consecutive year, central Iowans set a record for financial support of United Way of Central Iowa, pledging $28,016,275 in 2014. That is a $500,000 increase over the $27.5 million raised in 2013.

 

The campaign surpassed the $28 million goal set in early 2014


Tom Mahoney, President and CEO of ITA Group, and Jim Israel, who recently retired as president of John Deere Financial, co-chaired the campaign.


“Central Iowans are amazingly generous with their time and dollars,” said United Way of Central Iowa President Mary Sellers. ”


Additionally, United Way secured over $634,000 in grant funding in 2014 to advance community priorities in education, income and health.
