The UnityPoint Health-Des Moines Perinatal Center has been recognized as a Patient Centered Specialty Practice by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Located at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, the center cares for women with high-risk pregnancies. It’s the first perinatal center as well as the first adult clinic in Iowa to achieve PCSP recognition. The group earned Level 3 status, the highest possible status awarded. The national program includes rigorous, practical standards for improving specialty-primary care coordination, and three distinct levels of recognition based on each practice’s coordination abilities.
