UnityPoint Health has been named as one of the top places to work in health care in the United States, according to a national health care trade publication. Becker’s Hospital Review included UnityPoint Health on its 2022 list of “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare.” The list highlights hospitals, health systems and health care companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement and professional growth. UnityPoint Health, based in Clive, is the only health system in Iowa to be named to this year’s list and is one of only a handful of health systems in Illinois and Wisconsin to be included. UnityPoint Health President and CEO Clay Holderman said: “This recognition is affirmation of the commitment we have to our strong culture and to our team members, showing them just how much they matter to this world.” In a statement announcing the award, UnityPoint Health said it has worked to invest in team members in three key areas: Team member empowerment; diversity, equity and inclusion; and leadership effectiveness. Enhancements made have included raising minimum pay to $15 an hour,  providing all team members with COVID appreciation bonuses, and hiring a chief diversity officer. UnityPoint Health also offers resources around team building, engagement and retention to help leaders and team members continue to grow in their careers.
