175 wordsAll Latest News, Health and WellnessUnityPoint Health is alerting the public that its emergency department and urgent care locations are seeing a marked increase in the number of patients without symptoms seeking COVID-19 tests on a walk-in basis. UnityPoint Health no longer offers COVID-19 testing on a walk-in basis. Instead, it provides testing, if clinically appropriate, when caring for patients who visit its facilities to seek treatment for upper respiratory symptoms. People without symptoms should obtain an at-home COVID-19 test through state testing, through their county public health department, or through a local pharmacy or retailer. Those who get a positive result with a home test do not need to visit an urgent care or emergency department to have their positive test result confirmed with further testing. Individuals with COVID-19 symptoms should schedule an appointment with their primary care provider. If an appointment with a primary care provider is unavailable, they should visit an urgent care or express clinic. Anyone with difficulty breathing, pain in their chest or other serious symptoms should go to the emergency department or call 911.
