University presidents seek $12.7 million from regents

The Iowa Board of Regents is asking Gov. Terry Branstad for $12.7 million in additional general education funding, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reported. That would include $3.7 million for Iowa State University, $4.4 million for the University of Northern Iowa and $4.6 million for the University of Iowa. ISU President Steven Leath requested an additional $100 million over the next five years to fund a new Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
