Upward Bound at Simpson College receives additional STEM funding
Upward Bound, a Simpson College program providing assistance for underserved high school students seeking academic support, received a 4.25 percent increase in federal funding, Simpson College announced today. The increase came with an additional $16,470 to provide exposure to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields for students to consider after high school. The funds will assist an on-site visit to a STEM-focused college and a STEM career day. “Being able to have increased funding allows us to provide our students with the experiences they deserve in their pursuit of success,” said Jennifer Beal, Upward Bound program director.
