Nicholas Janning, pictured, currently the public services manager at the Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library, has been named Urbandale’s library director. Janning has worked in Ankeny since 2013. He received Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and political science from Drake University and graduate degrees in library science and information science from Indiana University. Janning replaces former library director Julie Wells, who retired in July. Janning will be paid $107,600annually. He begins his new job on Nov. 3.
