Utilities Board approves Alliant rate increase
The Iowa Utilities Board on Friday approved a settlement calling for a rate hike of 7.8 percent for Alliant Energy, which will take in an added $130 million in revenue. The utility had asked for $176 million, or 11.6 percent. The board approved a return on equity of 9.6 percent. Temporary rates, which have been in effect since April 13, 2017, will remain until the board reviews and approves tariff filings to be made by Alliant. Read Alliant’s news release.
