Historic Valley Junction in West Des Moines will host this year’s Iowa Downtown Summit, scheduled Aug. 27-28. This is the 29th year for the event, and Valley Junction officials are expecting close to 300 people representing 100 Iowa communities to attend. The summit serves as an informative, motivational event featuring multiple sessions that focus on downtown revitalization. Keynote speakers include success coach and author Mitch Matthews; Joe Minicozzi, real estate developer and founder of Urban3; developer, author and consultant Ron Drake; and Mike Draper, founder and owner of Raygun.
