Value of Waukee building permits topped $200 million for second year in a row

The breakdown in permits is 237 for single-family housing, 129 for townhomes, 21 for multifamily developments and 51 for commercial developments. “We continue to see steady interest from residential developers — single-family, townhomes and multi-family alike,” Development Services Director Brad Deets said in a statement. “The other exciting thing to note is that in both 2016 and 2017, our commercial development valuations exceeded $20 million. This is great news for residents looking for additional personal and professional services within the city.” The city issued a record-setting 1,124 permits with an estimated valuation of $209.2 million in 2016.
