Iowa Business Council Executive Director Georgia Van Gundy will leave her post to become senior vice president of Hy-Vee in September. She will work in administration and  industry/government relations, Hy-Vee announced. Van Gundy, one of this year’s Business Record Women of Influence honorees, has more than two decades of experience working in business-related policy issues and legislative initiatives. A graduate of Iowa State University, Van Gundy joined the council in 2017. She previously was assistant vice president of government relations and community relations for Principal Financial Group, state policy adviser for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and a legislative liaison for the Iowa Department of Economic Development. “Georgia has been a key player for many years in the areas of economic development in Iowa and throughout the Midwest,” said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee chairman, CEO and president. “We look forward to having her leadership and expertise at the table as our company continues to innovate so we can best serve our customers across our eight-state region.”
