Variety raises $4.08 million for Iowa children in 2018-19
Variety — the Children’s Charity raised $4.08 million over its 2018-19 fundraising year in Iowa, culminating in its 45th annual telethon broadcast on Saturday and Sunday, the charity reported Sunday evening. Since 1975, Variety and the telethon fundraiser have raised more than $113 million to support children who are at risk, underprivileged, critically ill or living with special needs. Proceeds from the last year will support Variety grant programs, mobility initiatives, Variety Van transportation services, all-inclusive Variety Star Playgrounds and the Compassion Fund for critically ill children, Variety said in a press statement.
