Sure, it’s 90 degrees outside and the Iowa State Fair is just beginning, but who says you can’t already be thinking about winter? The Downtown Farmers’ Market is now accepting vendor applications for its Winter Farmers’ Market, which will take place from 9  a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 12 and Saturday Dec. 3. Vendors wanting to participate can submit an application to the market’s website. The deadline is Oct. 23. The Winter Market will offer seasonal local produce, meat, cheese, eggs, jam, jelly, salsa and many other varieties of value-added farm food and local art. There will also be breakfast and lunch street food options. The Downtown Farmers’ Market outdoor season will continue through October.
