Veridian Credit Union is asking for public input on which local nonprofit organizations should receive a portion of $35,000 for Giving Tuesday on Nov. 28. Members of the public are invited to nominate their favorite nonprofit organization now through Nov. 12 for a chance to receive up to $10,000. The nonprofits will be drawn at random by Veridian on Nov. 13. A $5,000 award will go to a nonprofit organization in each of Veridian’s five market areas, including the Des Moines area, Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area, Omaha/Council Bluffs area and the Twin Cities area. An additional organization from one of those markets will be drawn for a $10,000 award. Recipients will be announced on Nov. 28. Each nominated organization will receive one entry for the drawing, regardless of the number of times it was nominated. Nominations and other details are available here.
