The Community Party at the Vibrant Music Hall on Oct. 24 gave attendees an inside look at the new venue and helped raise $14,270 for five participating nonprofit organizations. The funding came from ticket sales, as well as an additional $10,000 contribution from Vibrant Music Hall. The money will be equally divided among the Waukee Area Arts Council, Girls Rock! Des Moines, the Des Moines Music Coalition, the B. Well Foundation and the Seeds Swan Program. The music venue is scheduled to open in November, with rock band NeedToBreathe performing on Nov. 5, followed by shows from local artists. In addition to concerts, Vibrant Music Hall will also host graduations, weddings, conferences and other events.
