Rick Kozin, director for Polk County Health Department gave this speech to the Tomorrow Plan board in April. The speech argues that all policy is health policy, be it transportation, employment, housing or others. And the impacts of policy decisions in other areas, will ultimately have an impact on our health. He believes our best bet to fight chronic diseases, is not by confronting them as medical issues alone. But instead thinking of ways public policy can have a positive impact on health issues such as obesity, diabetes and asthma.
