Former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will discuss threats to agriculture from climate change Nov. 16 at Iowa State University’s Memorial Union. Vilsack, the former Iowa governor, now is president and CEO of the U.S. Dairy Export Council. As ag secretary under President Barack Obama, he acknowledged farms’ role in climate change and backed initiatives to find ways farmers could adapt to the new conditions while cutting greenhouse gas pollution. The speech begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
