The department store has been an anchor at the mall since 1976, a year after Valley West first opened. Its pending departure adds to the uncertainty about the already struggling shopping hub, which will be left with a single anchor tenant, J.C. Penney. Jessica Stoltz, director of advertising and e-marketing for Von Maur, said the Valley West store will close shortly before Von Maur takes over the empty former Younkers space at Jordan Creek Town Center.
