VOTE NOW: Would you support unlimited time off?
Some high-profile national companies such as Netflix Inc. have decided to give employees unlimited paid time off.
The idea is to trust employees to do their work and to take the time off they need to stay fresh. Managers still have to approve the absences, so all bases are covered. Typically, there are no limits on vacation or sick leave on these plans.
Some employers fear workers will attempt to abuse the system, but statistics show that an American workforce that already tends to leave vacation days on the table takes even less when there are no limits.
We’ve been looking into the policies for a story in our weekly Business Record. We’re interested in your opinion.
