The 2017 Solheim Cup in West Des Moines is a finalist for the Sports Business Award for best event, matching up against such high-profile events as the TCS New York City Marathon and the NFL Draft Philadelphia. Other finalists include the Major League Baseball Little League Classic, El Clasico Miami soccer and the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight. The awards, presented by SportsBusiness Journal, recognize excellence in a number of categories and will be presented at a gala May 23 at the New York Marriott Marquis on Times Square.
