Randal Walters, facing federal bank fraud charges along with his development partner John Kline, will appear before a judge at 9 a.m. Thursday to change his not guilty plea in the case.

Walters and Kline were indicted in November 2011 on charges that they diverted bank loans intended for specific development projects to other businesses and for their personal use. Walters previously filed a motion to have his case separated from Kline. A judge rejected that effort.

Both men were scheduled for trial Monday. However, Kline’s trial has been postponed to January.

Kline’s attorney, Paul Rosenberg, said the trial date was moved because he is having hip surgery. Walters’ attorney, Alfredo Parrish, could not be reached for comment.
