The Des Moines Water Works board of trustees is scheduled to interview candidates for its CEO and general manager position this week, but it’s not clear how many candidates are in the running for the job. The board is scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday on Zoom, where it is expected to go into closed session to conduct interviews with the CEO candidates. At the board’s last meeting, consultant Colin Baenziger said that after posting the job twice, 122 applications for the CEO position were received. He said the list was eventually narrowed to as many as eight that were described as a good fit for the job. The agendas for this week’s meeting did not indicate how many candidates were being interviewed, and an email seeking that information wasn’t returned today. Ted Corrigan, chief operating officer of the Des Moines Water Works, has been serving as interim CEO since Bill Stowe died last year.
