UnitedHealthcare has appointed Alissa Weber as chief executive officer of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Iowa, effective Jan. 15. In that role, she will lead the UnitedHealthcare team that helps manage the IA Health Link program serving about 400,000 Medicaid members. Before joining UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Iowa in 2013 as chief financial officer, she worked for Centene Corp. for more than 12 years, where she held a number of leadership positions. Weber fills the position vacated in July 2018 by former CEO Kim Foltz. A Quad Cities native, Weber has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance with a minor in Japanese from the University of Iowa. She resides in Central Iowa with her family.
