Iowa is one of 11 states that has launched a Mobile ID program, allowing businesses to accept smartphone-based IDs for age and identity verification. The Iowa Restaurant Association and the Iowa Department of Transportation will host a webinar at 9 a.m. Dec. 12. that will provide more information about the applications and processes required to verify age and ID on mobile devices. Jessica Ekman, executive officer of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division – Regulatory Compliance Bureau, and Toni Smith, emerging technology program manager in the Iowa DOT – Motor Vehicle Division, will speak during the webinar.
