Weitz Co. has received a national construction award for its work on a 176-foot-tall feed mill in Joanna, S.C. The Associated Builders and Contractors presented its Eagle Award for construction excellence to Weitz for industrial projects in the $15 million to $25 million category. Included in the design-build contract were additional project management activities to install equipment for grain storage, grinding, mixing, controls, pelleting and cooling as well as the construction of a precast warehouse, truck sanitation and sterilization building, according to a release.
