Wells Fargo & Co. gave more than $4 million to assist more than 440 nonprofit organizations in Iowa communities last year, in addition to the record 108,000 volunteer hours donated by its employees. Teaching financial education programs in local schools and building affordable homes are among the activities the bank supported in 2010, including a $250,000 Priority Market Grant to help revitalize a portion of Des Moines’ Drake neighborhood and outreach to more than 2,000 students and young adults in Iowa through the company’s financial education programs.
