The Council for Economic Education, which promotes economics and personal finance education for K-12 students, has named a Wells Fargo banker in West Des Moines to its board of directors. Lisa Banker, senior vice president and cross-business finance initiatives and risk implementation manager at Wells Fargo, is one of three new leaders named to the council’s board. She brings to the CEE board 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including leadership in strategic planning, risk policy and business continuity. She also co-chairs Wells Fargo’s Finance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. A certified chartered financial analyst, Banker spent six years with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in a variety of positions, including national bank examiner. The CEE carries out its mission by providing resources and training to K-12 educators. Nearly two-thirds of the teachers it reaches teach in low- and moderate-income schools. Also named to the board were Rebecca Patterson of Bridgewater Associates and Kim Sharan, who serves on TIAA’s board of trustees.
