Seventeen nonprofit organizations throughout Iowa will receive a total of $58,000 in grants from Wells Fargo & Co. through its Volunteer Service Award program, which recognizes team members who make an exceptional impact through volunteerism. One of the Iowa team members, Kristin Meyer, earned the top grant Wells Fargo offers through the program — $25,000 — which was donated to the Children’s Cancer Connection. Meyer volunteers in support services, family outings, hospital-based programs and survivorship services for the nonprofit. The grants were part of $506,000 that Wells Fargo donated this year in recognition of 202 team members’ efforts for their favorite nonprofits. Overall, Iowa team members generated the third-highest amount of grants for charitable causes through the program, behind California and North Carolina.
