Wendy Wintersteen named Iowa State’s new president
The Iowa Board of Regents last week named Wendy Wintersteen the 16th president of Iowa State University. Wintersteen, who spent nearly four decades working at the university and most recently was dean of ISU’s agricultural college, is the first woman to hold the job in Iowa State’s 159-year history, according to the Des Moines Register. The decision to appoint Wintersteen as president was unanimous among the regents and concluded a six-month search to replace former ISU President Steven Leath, who resigned last spring.
