WesleyLife and Trixies Salon and Spa are partnering to create a full-service salon and spa where customers of all generations can connect and build relationships while receiving beauty and wellness services close to home. The salon, Grand Creations, will open at Wesley Acres, 3520 Grand Ave., in Des Moines on Monday, Sept. 12. The state-of-the-art facility will feature the same high-end salon and spa services available at other Trixies Salon and Spa locations, with discounted rates for WesleyLife residents. With a professional staff focused on the art of healing and rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit, Grand Creations will offer natural, botanical products as an Aveda salon, the first of its kind in a WesleyLife Community. Outside customers are also welcome to make appointments. Similar salons are also opening at two other WesleyLife communities — Brio of Johnston and the Summit in Bettendorf. The collaboration aligns with research showing that consistent interaction with people of all ages can help older adults live healthier, longer lives. Inviting the community to take advantage of the convenience these new salon locations offer is also expected to foster meaningful connections that will benefit young and older alike. The opening of the new salon and spa at Wesley Acres is part of a $25 million redevelopment effort supporting the WesleyLife flagship location, WesleyLife officials said in a press release. Several other renovation and enhancement projects are planned to be completed at Wesley Acres in the coming months, with construction expected to finish in mid-2023.
