West Des Moines attains Home Base Iowa designation
Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Tuesday that West Des Moines has achieved the Home Base Iowa Community designation. West Des Moines is now the 21st community in the state to achieve this recognition, which requires in part that at least 10 percent of hiring businesses in the community commit to becoming Home Base Iowa businesses. The Home Base Iowa initiative seeks to connect transitioning military members and veterans with career opportunities in Iowa companies. Other Greater Des Moines cities that have attained the designation are Grimes and Johnston.
