The West Des Moines Leadership Academy class of 2018-19 raised more than $50,000 to benefit West Des Moines Human Services through its recent “Dueling for Humanity” event. Held at Blue Moon Piano Bar in West Des Moines, the May 2 event drew more than 200 people for an evening of live music, exciting raffle items and great food and beverages. Presenting sponsors included Federal Home Loan Bank-Des Moines, IMT Insurance, McAninch, NCMIC and R&R Realty Group. In-kind sponsors were Trilix and Tasteful Catering. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs for low-income, elderly and disabled residents in the western suburbs.
