West Des Moines city officials were awarded the Leading the Way Award, which honors communities delivering top-quality services to residents. Mayor Russ Trimble and members of the City Council were presented with the award during the March 6 City Council meeting. According to the ETC Institute, the city ranks in the top 10% of nearly 200 cities and counties that participated in the DirectionFinder Citizen Survey between May and December 2022 in three critical areas, including satisfaction with the overall quality of services, satisfaction with customer service provided by employees, and satisfaction with the value residents receive for local taxes and fees. The city’s composite rating was 73 points above the average composite score for all cities in the United States.
