The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce will hold its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Workplace Awards on Wednesday evening with awards being presented in 11 categories. According to a release, about 40 people, businesses and organizations were nominated earlier this summer in categories such as small business, medium business, large business, nonprofit and DEI leader. Other categories include education, government, emerging DEI leader, student DEI leader, DEI ally leader and best inclusion initiative. A panel of 13 judges considered the nominations in each of the categories. Registration for the event is closed. It is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. at the Ron Pearson Center, 5820 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
