West Des Moines Water Works board gains new member

150 wordsAll Latest News, Energy, Government Policy and LawErin Sheriff has been appointed to serve a six-year term on the West Des Moines Water Works board of trustees. Sheriff, who was appointed by West Des Moines Mayor Steve Gaer, replaces Brian Rickert, who served two terms on the board. Sheriff grew up in West Des Moines and graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. After completing college in 2001, she started her career with Cigna Corp. in Hartford, Conn., as an actuarial manager. She returned to Iowa in 2007 and joined Principal Financial Group as an actuary in pricing strategy. Sheriff will serve on the Water Works board’s Operations Committee as chair and on its Customer and Community Relations Committee. The board also elected Scott Brennan as its chairperson and Gretchen Tegeler as vice chairperson. The Water Works is owned by West Des Moines residents and governed by a five-member board of trustees.
