Which Iowa hospitals got an A for patient safety?

Iowa ranks 33rd among the states in the percentage of hospitals receiving an A grade, according to the latest Hospital Safety Grades reported by the Leapfrog Group. Nine of 33 Iowa hospitals, or 27 percent, received an A grade. Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines was the only Greater Des Moines hospital to receive the highest grade. States ranking the highest were Rhode Island at 71 percent A grades, Maine at 69 percent and Hawaii at 67 percent. In the Midwest, 59 percent of Wisconsin hospitals got A grades while 29 percent of Minnesota hospitals got an A. The nonprofit hospital quality organization evaluates more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice annually, assigning letter grades from A to F. The Safety Grade includes 27 measures, all currently in use by national measurement and reporting programs.
