Several Greater Des Moines restaurants are recipients of Wine Spectator’s 2015 Restaurant Awards, which highlights restaurants around the world that offer the best wine selections for customers. Among those recognized was 801 Chophouse, which received a Best of Award of Excellence. Receiving Awards of Excellence were Splash Seafood Bar and Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Trostel’s Dish and Trostel’s Greenbriar. More than 3,600 restaurants were recognized through this year’s program, which began in 1981. A total of 12 restaurants from across Iowa were honored. The complete list of award winners will be featured in the Aug. 31 issue of Wine Spectator, available on newsstands July 21. Winners are also listed on Wine Spectator’s searchable database.
